Learning to make a couple of basic sauces, salsas and dips from scratch will save you money and save the environment. Not only will you find that it tastes better than the store bought bottles, it is also better for your health, since you avoid consuming preservatives, colourants and flavour enhancers that are often on the ingredient list of these products. Try one recipe at a time and stick with it untill you feel confident enough to try the next one. Buy the best quality ingredients that you can afford and buy organic if and where possible.
